PLAYFUL IN PALLY

You all know by now one of my absolute favorite designers is Rachel Pally. When I want something elegant or California Casual, I can usually find just the dress I’m looking for. From Maxi dresses to tops, pants and short or body con dresses, Rachel Pally White Label has me covered! I can easily get lost in the buttery fabric that comes in an array of colors. While the pieces can run on the spendier side they are totally worth it. Everything is made in the LA and you can’t go wrong with the fit and style. Not to mention, I always feel like a million bucks wearing Rachel Pally.

You can check her out at Nieman Marcus and Rachel Pally.com.

MIXED MEDIA

I am a huge fan of working with whats in your closet and buying a piece (or two) to update what you already have. I also love mixing and matching prints and textures. Of course you already know I love body con and more fitted styles that really show off my shape. It’s no secret pencil skirts are of one of my absolute favorites and I need more of them in my life. Peplum for me can be hit or miss but this top fit so well and I loved the texture so it was a must have.

I’m also loving Sam Edelman shoes right now. It’s really hard for me to find a comfortable, supportive and chic shoe that’s high enough but not too high (3” is perfect) and the Okala ankle strap pumps are a treat.

OUTFIT DETAILS:  Top - INC MACYS, Skirt - SANCTUARY (Nordstrom) Shoes - Sam Edelman (my favs! so comfy and cute, I have two pairs now!) Belt & Bracelet - Lane Bryant, Clutch - Top Shop.

LOVELY IN SWAK

I recently teamed up with SWAK Designs to style a few looks for my Lovely In Swak Lookbook. I styled the Anabelle Maxi, the Hailey Dress, and the Abstract Pretty Cami. The Anabelle Maxi is one of my favorites because it is so versatile and comfortable. Plus I love off the shoulder dresses! You can check out how I styled the looks on the SWAK website by clicking the link above!.

PLUS SIZE OOTD: SWAK HAILEY EYELET DRESS

When trendy plus size fashion site SWAK designs reached out to me to style a few pieces, I was thrilled! The adorable Hailey eyelet dress is perfect for spring and turquoise is one of my favorite colors. This dress can be easily worn in a number of ways and its great with a denim jacket and some wedges or boots! You can find the Hailey Eyelet Dress at www.swakdesigns.com in white, turquoise and black.

APRICOT ABSTRACT

My brunch outfit this morning sparked an impromptu photo shoot. I absolutely adore the print and style of the Rhiannon Dress by Rachel Pally from her Summer White Label Collection. I paired it with my white belt from Forever21, Torrid Bracelets and my Belize wedges from Barefoot Tess.

Cheap Chic
I am a huge fan of mixing and matching pieces from all price points and brands. Even though the original silhouette was a bit boxy, I loved the color and was determined to make it work! Adding the right accessories can take a $30 Old Navy Dress to chic in seconds! As someone who falls in the middle of the size spectrum, plus but not too plus, its important to keep in mind that some brands like Old Navy are generous enough to work in straight sizes.
I paired this dress with belts from Old Navy, bracelets from Torrid and Old Navy, Shoes from Vince Camuto (one of my fav brands!) and Necklace and Earrings from Rachel Roy. Voila, chic on a budget!

Last week I attended the SINGLE Russian Tea Party hosted by Melrose PR and Galina Sobolev at her private residence in the Hollywood Hills! We shopped and mingled while eating tasty bites provided by Chinois on Main.
For those of you that don’t know, the Single brand is carried by Saks Fifth Avenue in plus sizes and I was thrilled to be one of the only plus size bloggers in attendance. Single is described as “an unapologetic stand for the individuality of style and confidence” Co-founded by GALINA SOBOLEV and MICHAEL SOBOLEV, Single was conceived to reaffirm every woman’s zest for life, romance and luxury.
I will be visiting their showroom soon and will share some of my favorite pieces with you!

SWEET XO FLAGSHIP STORE GRAND OPENING

I think I may have just found my next guilty pleasure. Sweet XO which just opened its flagship store in El Segundo recently, is the place to go if you are looking for unique shopping experience and gifts. You can spend hours browsing through all the items and tasting the sweets from ice cream (175 toppings or cupcakes and bakery items!) It’s truly merchandised to perfection with sweet candies and colorful gifts or accessories on every shelf. There is also a lounge area where you can relax and enjoy your sweets.

VIVA LAS VEGAS - LOVELY IN LA SHOPPING GUIDE

As a Los Angeles resident, I’ve been so Vegas so many time that I’ve lost track (it happens when you live in LA, trust me). It was my first time staying at the Cosmopolitan and I’d love to thank them for the gorgeous suite with the balcony and view of the strip! I was in Vegas walking the floor for the MAGIC tradeshow and got to preview some of the plus size collections from Kiyonna, Violeta, BB Dakota and others.

In my free time I did some serious shopping so I wanted to share a few of my favorites for larger sizes.

  1. FASHION SHOW MALL- Definitely hit up this mall for a great selection of items. Macy’s, Nordstrom and Dillards all carry a fairly generous selection for plus sizes.
  2. FOREVER21 PLUS (inside Fashion Show Mall)- I was thoroughly impressed at the selection and size of the Plus Section (the largest I’ve ever seen in for Forever21).
  3. RENT THE RUNWAY (in the Cosmpolitan Hotel) YES, YES, YES! I was so excited when I found out they carried up to a size 22 in their dresses here!!! Definitely go make an appointment and check them out.
  4. TOP SHOP & ZARA- Unfortunately no clothes in my size but definitely the best accessories at great prices. I picked up two clutches in Top Shop and a necklace at Zara.
  5. BETTIE PAGE - Pin up style clothes in the Fashion Show Mall.
  6. TORRID  (OFF THE STRIP) - There is a Torrid in Las Vegas but its located in the Boulevard Mall (not the best part of town but great selection as far as Torrid goes).
  7. TADASHI SHOJI (ON THE STRIP INSIDE THE FORUM SHOPS)

AMSTERDAM & LONDON PHOTOFILE

I recently headed over to London for a work conference and had a few extra days to spend exploring Amsterdam. I shopped at all the usual places in London along Oxford Street where they carry extended sizes (River Island, Debenhams, NewLook, Monsoon, Mark’s & Spencer, H & M, Dorothy Perkins, House of Frasier, John Lewis and Evans to name a few).

As soon as we got to Amsterdam, I switched in tourist mode and hit the town. We stayed at the Sofitel Grand where we were treated like royalty. For shopping, the Nines district is one of the best. I also enjoyed Jordan as well. One of my favorite touristy things to do in Amsterdam besides the Van Gogh Museum, was the Heineken Tour which includes a boat tour of the city and beer! (Did I mention it tastes even better over there!)
